At Kirkcudbright Picture Framers we’re dedicated to helping the people of Dumfries & Galloway, and our many visitors, make the very most of their empty wallspace!

Local picture framer Jacqui Ringrose learned her framing skills in Surrey and moved back to Kirkcudbright to set up shop and serve the framing needs of local artists and local people. Since we first opened two years ago, the shop has simply got better and better! We now stock an unrivalled range of frames and a huge range of prints, in fact, we had to move shop to fit everything in!

Service is at the heart of everything we do. Have you fallen in love with a special print but can’t find it anywhere? Bet we can! Got something unusual you’d love to have framed? We love a challenge – you’d be surprised at the things we’ve been asked to frame!

We know that if you want something framed it’s bound to be something precious. We’ll always try to enhance and preserve whatever your bring to us, and we’ll never argue with you over your choice of frame. We usually have a two-week turn around, but if you do need something for a particular date please let us know and we’ll do our very best to meet it. Everything we do is tailored to the needs of each individual customer, and each individual piece, and we’ll always do our best to give you the great service you deserve.

What a difference a frame makes!

We can provide frames for prints, watercolours, oils, tapestries — you name it, we can frame it!

Since a frame can change a picture so much it’s important to think carefully about what frame and mounting will suit it best. You should consider where the picture will be hung - if it will hang in a sunny room or opposite a window then non-reflective glass could be what you need. We’re always happy to advise you on all these aspect although the final decision will be down to you.

All our framing is bespoke and everything to cut to suit your particular item. For this reason a price list is nearly impossible to provide but we can give you a general idea of what your framing would cost. Simply phone with your picture sizes, an idea of what frame you would like and we can give you and estimate over the phone.

There’s no deposit to pay and we’ll always show you the finished work in-store before you take it away. We know you’ll be keen to get your item back as soon as possible, so we’ll phone you when it’s ready so you can collect it immediately. We can also deliver, for a small charge, to anywhere within a 40 mile radius of Kirkcudbright.

We’re proud to be a retailer of collectable limited edition prints from some of the finest artists around. We’re a partnership gallery of Washington Green, Soloman and Whitehead and Eccosse Fine Art. This means we can offer limited edition prints by artists such as Alexander Millar, Barbara James, John Silver and David Shepherd to name a few. In fact, we’ve worked so hard at searching for superior prints over the years that we’ve become great art print detectives! We would go as far as to say if you know the name of a print you’re looking for, or even just the artist’s name we’re pretty sure we could find it for you.

We make a real effort to always have plenty of prints and some originals by local artists, and we love to keep a Scottish theme running through the gallery. In fact, we always make sure there is at least one Hornel print n the wall to celebrate Kirkcudbright’s most famous artistic resident! Prices ranges from around £20 to up to £500, and there’s plenty on offer to suit every budget and any taste.
