KIRKCUDBRIGHT ARTISTS

Alistair Hall.

Alistair was born in Kirkcudbright on 13th November 1948. He was educated at Kirkcudbright Academy, and left University after 1 year to go into the family butcher's business.

It was only when Alistair was 35 years old that he became interested in watercolour painting, and he developed his skills by copying the works of other artists, and in particular the paintings of Russell Flint.

Two early examples of Alistair's work, where he learned from the style and work of other artists.

Watercolour of Kirkcudbright Harbour. The majority of Alistair's painting is now done on commission, and he would be delighted to discuss all of your  requirements, but asks if initial contact can be made by telephone.
His favourite scene is of Kirkcudbright Harbour, in all its variety of lights, in the ebb and flow of its tides, and of the colour and assortment of the craft to be encountered.

The image on the right is of a recently completed work, which Alistair is having reproduced as a limited edition print.
