The earliest reference to Freemasonry in Galloway, as yet discovered, is contained in the Charter issued by the Grand Lodge of Scotland, in 1741, in favour of St Cuthbert Kilwinning, No. 41 here in Kirkcudbright. Visit their website and look for the informative 'History' section.

The Pony Club is the number one organisation for young people who love ponies and riding. The Stewartry Branch was established in 1965.
