KIRKCUDBRIGHT MARINA

The River Dee offers the safest anchorage on the Solway coast hence the growth of the town of Kirkcudbright in the medieval period.  The approach to Kirkcudbright is through attractive coastal scenery. The marina offers a peaceful haven to stop, enjoy the atmosphere of this historic harbour town and sample the local hospitality as well as stocking up on essentials.
The town has a wealth of attractions for the visitor such as golf, fishing, art exhibitions, fine foods, summer festivities, cycling, gardens and historical sites. The Tolbooth Arts Centre tells the story of the art colony, and Broughton House, the home of E A Hornel - one of the colony’s leading artists, is open to the public.
The Harbour Cottage Gallery has a busy programme of contemporary art and craft exhibitions, whilst the Stewartry Museum is a traditional museum of amazing variety including maritime history exhibits.
A wide range of shops offer everything from local crafts and specialty foods to basic supplies while there is also a good choice of pubs, restaurants and hotels.
